Impressionism

I can never get enough of  Monet's paintings with those luscious colors and electric quality about them. The spontaneity and intensity with which French impressionists painted had its roots in the works of   Delacroix and  Turner , and probably way back to the 17th century Dutch artist Frans Hals whom many critics regard as the precursor of the painterly style.

Here is a cityscape painting I did of an area near my house in eastern Tehran with an eye to impressionism with more erratic brushwork and stronger color accents which is not typical of my painting approach. Normally I paint more deliberately.
